Brainstorm Blog #1

For Project 1 - “Son of A Serendipitous Glitch!” I want to create a series of pictures with a cohesive vintage aesthetic that relates them. These pictures will accumulate a combination of vintage fashion, lifestyle, places, cars, and sports. I want to use original pictures with a lot of color so it can make fun glitches. I plan to try to use Audacity to invert the colors in these pictures to make them even more vibrant and pop out to the audience. During the Audacity lab, I had a lot of success in that technique. Since I used cartoons and typography in my test glitches, I want to incorporate pictures with real people in my final project, to see how it will differ. Some of the sports and places I plan on using include surfing, skiing, tennis, waterskiing, swimming, locations in California, as well as some fun food and drinks. I think using all of these types of pictures will give a cohesive and unique look to my 9-15 photos. I am really excited to play around and learn more of the Audacity and TextEdit glitches. During my test photographs I had the most fun, as well as the most success, with these two methods. If my vintage photographs are not turning out the way I would like them to look, I plan on using vintage graphics like the ones I used in my trial test runs. The colors and typography on these posters tended to glitch very well and create unique effects.
