Brainstorm Blog #2

Ideas for sounds:

• Claw clip opening and closing

• Nails tapping on different surfaces

• Water dropping

• Coffee pouring into different cups

  • Coffee mug

  • To-go cup 

• Typing on computer

• Opening and closing a lid on a water bottle

• Blowing water through a straw to make a bubbling noise

• Cereal coming out of a dispenser

• Door lock opening and closing

• Salt shaker being shaken

• Card being tapped at the store

• Glasses case being shut and opened

• Cutting into meat with a knife (steak, chicken, fish)

I am planning to notice things around me and pay more attention to sounds when walking or being places. If I notice something unique, I will record the sound and see how it turns out. I think I'll end up recording a lot more than five sounds and then decide which ones I like the best. I am really interested in the sounds that water makes, so I'm going to experiment with different ways I can make it make different sounds. I’m really excited to work on this project and experiment with putting all kinds of sounds together. I think it will be a fun challenge. I am also really excited to see what other people come up with. I wonder if you will be able to hear similarities versus differences in people’s tracks, because we are all using the same sounds to make them.
